Use of Aquatic Macrophytes for Wastewater Treatment

Abstract
|
|
|
The aquatic macrophyte, Oenanthe jarvanica were demonstrated considerable potential for nutrient removal and pH control in culture solution.
The total nitrogen removal on the growth of Oenanthe jarvanica resulted in an 43.27% (control group 14.5%) in the 5 days period.
And phosphate phosphorous removal rate were 46.15% (control group 17.82%) in the same times.
Oenanthe jarvanica also demonstrated an ability to neutralize acidic solution (pH 4.0) and alkaline solution (pH 10.0).
